Mosdos Ahavas Yehonoson was established to meet the needs of English speaking b’nei chutz la’aretz who are learning in Eretz Yisroel. Located in Ramat Beit Shemesh, the kollel enjoys the quiet surroundings of a true makom Torah that is made up of a predominant majority of English speaking b’nei Torah, both avreichim and ba’alei batim.
THE ROSH KOLLEL
Mosdos Ahavas Yehonoson is under the leadership of HaRav Dovid Lewin shlit”a who is the author of several halacha seforim. Originally from Toronto, Canada, the Rosh Kollel studied in the famous Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland, Ohio where he received Semicha. In 2001, Rabbi Lewin and his family made aliya to Ramat Beit Shemesh where he continues to pursue his lifelong passion of teaching Torah. Now as Rosh Kollel, he utilizes his breadth of knowledge and pedagogic skills to guide and mold the young kollel scholars.
MORNING PROGRAM – Open beis medrash program
Our first seder program is designed to allow avreichim to focus on and perfect the areas of Torah that they enjoy most. Whether it is in-depth Talmud study, or a well-invested daf-yomi, the kollel’s avreichim maximize their morning to develop their expertise in the sea of Talmud. The morning program is open to ba’alei batim who wish to study under the leadership of our competent avreichim.
AFTERNOON PROGRAM – Semicha program
Our second seder program is geared to developing thorough understanding and practical application of pertinent halachic topics. Delving into the early sources, the avreichim emerge with a deeper understanding of the contemporary authorities. Periodic testing keeps the avreichem focused and helps them review the material in preparing for larger cumulative exams.
